Cast Iron Pump
In the process of constructing the so-called bentonite slurry walls, the excess material, mixed with stones and sands, has to be recycled. The resulting abrasive pumping medium places the highest demands on the wear resistance of the pump. Overall, this application requires a unit design that ensures operation independently of an electrical power supply and even with air pockets - in other words, self-priming.
The solution is a HÜDIG unit with a galvanized tank frame (sufficient for a 24-hour continuous operation). To deliver the suspension a horizontal, wear-resistant armored pump is used and for suction a dry-running and thus resource-friendly, easy-to-maintain vacuum generator is used. A Hatz engine in a SilentPack design is used as the drive. Overall, the performance specifications were geared towards ensuring that the unit is robust and operates without faults.Of course, the unit can also be used for other abrasive media.
