HÜDIG – Diesel Vacuum Unit HC-DVP100 (Type HC 522/17) with a Custom Solution!
25 x Hüdig diesel-powered vacuum units for ARGE SuedLink Lot 10
The ARGE SuedLink Lot 10 joint venture, comprising the Max Bögl Group and Michels Trenchless GmbH, has been commissioned by transmission system operator TransnetBW to construct an approximately 40 km section of the SuedLink power corridor.
The contract covers, among other things, the excavation and backfilling of cable trenches, horizontal directional drilling, and the construction of splice pits and cable drum unwinding sites.
A total of 42 excavation pits for the cable runs must be created along the route.
Since the splice pits in particular are considered critical points, an open dewatering system was planned for surface drainage at these locations.
The choice fell on a Hüdig diesel vacuum unit HC-DVP100 (Type HC 522/17), as this pump impressed with its high pumping capacity, low fuel consumption, adapted electrode control, and HCRM 3.0 monitoring.
Equipped with a submersible sewage centrifugal pump, dirt and sand particles pose no problem for this pump. Given its use across different seasons — and the correspondingly wide fluctuations in water volume — the pump needed to be permanently ready for operation in standby mode.
In close collaboration with Tobias Götz (Max Bögl, Project Manager) and Daniel Künzl (Max Bögl, Mechanical Engineering), the following custom solutions were developed for this demanding task and implemented by Hüdig:
- Hüdig monitoring system HCRM 3.0 (status monitoring of engine data and vacuum, location monitoring / push notifications)
- Control via min/max electrodes in the pump sump
- Larger 110 Ah starter battery
- Additional high-water alarm via probe
- Solar panel to maintain battery voltage
In addition to a comprehensive accessory package, a sand trap and a water meter with pulse transmitter were also supplied for each pump.
