HÜDIG - Groundwater lowering measure in Potsdam

A new residential and commercial building with underground parking is being built in the center of Potsdam. Foundations and sheet pile walls are being installed by a consortium. For the drainage of the entire excavation pit, a total of 9 pieces of electric vacuum units from HÜDIG (type HC 488/25) were installed by the well construction company Wils & Water GmbH from Werder. For space reasons, the chassis was removed and attached directly to the sheet pile walls. The space saved by this measure in the construction field additionally optimizes the efficiency of the groundwater lowering, since suction height was saved. In addition to the filter lances, a drainage system was milled below the construction base. This was also connected to the electric vacuum units.

The accumulating groundwater is collected via collection pipes and conveyed to a settling basin via the penstocks. From there, it is fed to the Spree River via a treatment plant in an environmentally compatible manner using 3 pieces of Grindex submersible wastewater pumps of the Major type (with float switches).

To increase operational safety in the event of a power failure, HÜDIG power generators of the type Step 60 with built-in automatic emergency power supply are provided.
