HÜDIG - HC 522 vs. rotary piston pump

Our customer in North America asked us if an HC522/07 (4" diesel pump) could outperform a 6" rotary lobe pump.

A brief description of how both types work:

Rotary piston pump

Rotary piston pumps are self-priming or conditionally self-priming, valve-less positive displacement pumps with two rotary pistons rotor running combed into each other. The efficiency decreases strongly with increasing pressure ratio. The rotors themselves are synchronously driven via a gearbox. Here we point out that the applications of the groundwater lowering robust aggregates are required which are also easy to maintain. If a rotary piston pump is defected, it must be sent to the repair shop. Rotary piston pumps are suitable for industrial use with the cleanest possible ambient air. The conditions on the construction site are rather suboptimal for such types of pumps. In addition, the acquisition costs are sometimes considerably higher than for other types of vacuum pump.

HC522/07

Both the water pump and the vacuum generator, which are driven by a fuel-saving diesel engine, ensure the continuous supply of the air-water mixture. The intake air-water mixture is separated by an upstream air separator so that the water pump only pumps water and consequently the vacuum generator only pumps air. This combined system provides fast, reliable extraction of groundwater at the adjustable vacuum required.

Practical test:

The HC522/07 convinced in practical use all along the line. In addition to the lower acquisition costs and the compact design, the pump is also less expensive to maintain.
